Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is designed to help road vehicles maintain a safe following distance and stay within the speed limit. This system can automatically adjust the speed of a vehicle to match the speed of the vehicle in front of it. An automotive night vision system uses a thermographic camera to increase a driver's perception and see the distance in darkness or poor weather beyond the reach of the vehicle's headlights. Both devices will be discussed in a comprehensive manner.

One accident in every one minute, one fatality in every four minutes. For the past decade of years, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of vehicles on Indian roads.
